Diamonds come from Kimberley
Tourmalines from Minas Gerais
And goldsmiths from Gmünd //

Handling noble metals has a long tradition in the German town of Schwäbisch Gmünd. Back in 1793, 250 goldsmiths competed for customers in the gold and silver city; so says the city chronicle. No wonder that talented members of the Kuhn family turned out to be successful goldsmiths.

Grandfather Josef Kuhn established the jewelry workshop KUHN in Gmünd in 1925, later taken over by my father Heinrich Kuhn. In the family of my mother, grandfather Georg – artist, sculptor and metal engraver in Gmünd, passed on his sure intuition and craft to his grandson.

Lothar Kuhn himself, born in Schwäbisch Gmünd in 1953, studied jewelry design at the college in Gmünd upon completing his apprenticeship. After several stations in different workshops, in 1982 he established his own workshop with showroom in Esslingen. As a designer, goldsmith, and businessman, he knows how to create dreams without forgetting reality.
